What is the Pink Ribbon Bagel? The Pink Ribbon Bagel was originally created in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 2001, by one of our first Panera franchisees, Sue Stees, who is today, a 25-year breast cancer survivor. Her inspiration has spread through our organization and now Pink Ribbon Bagels are sold across the country in all participating Panera bakery-cafes to raise money and awareness for the Breast Cancer cause the month of October.
- The bagels are loaded with cherry chips, dried cherries, cranberries, vanilla, honey and brown sugar. We bake these special bagels fresh every day in our bakery-cafes.
- The bagel is named after the pink ribbon, the symbol that has become widely identified with support of breast cancer research.
- In recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, all 29 Central Ohio area bakery-cafes will offer Pink Ribbon Bagels throughout October.
- For every Pink Ribbon Bagel sold, we will donate a portion to Breast Cancer Awareness to support local breast cancer awareness and prevention efforts, as well as 100% of the proceeds from our Go Pink Day in the cafes.
